If you are experiencing acid re§ux, heartburn or chronic indigestion, you may be referred to a gastroenterologist. A gastroenterologist specializes in treating stomach and intestinal disorders.

You may need to see an endocrinologist for symptoms of diabetes, osteoporosis, thyroid disease or hormone disorders. An endocrinologist is a specially trained doctor who can diagnose diseases that affect glands. A diagnosis of osteoporosis, gout, in§ammatory arthritis or lupus would need the specializa-tion of a rheumatologist. Rheu-matologists diagnose and treat diseases of the musculoskeletal system.
